Venerable Tuisokhoun - Founder and Director of Remote Area kids Organization (RAKO)

Tuisokhoun is one of the original founders of RAKO Cambodia in 2005.

Ven. Tuisokhoun became a monk in the year 2000. He became a pagoda boy when he was 15 attending the Buddhist primary school and completed Buddhist-high school in 2005.

He received his bachelor of English literature degree at BBU University. He has worked to establish and operate the Remote Area Kids Organization since 2005. He worked together with Matthew Steinbrueck and Martin Fairngnaert in the founding and setting up of the RAKO School and organization in Cambodia.

Tuisokhoun was instrumental in the arrangement for the new RAKO medical center for the children and villagers. They can get free medical check ups.

Ven.Tuisokhoun is responsible for the management and daily operations of the Centre and RAKO school.

Mr. Chan Sereyrith - Vice Director

Mr. Chan Sereyrith is a Cambodian citizen. Rith has been working with RAKO since 2007. He has worked very hard to develop RAKO school and keep it running well.

Rith and Sokhoun are responsible for the preparing the programs and handle the problems, or situations happening in the Organization. They work together to develop the rural areas around Kirirmanun village. He is on a committee of advocacy Network in Siem Reap town.

Mr. Patt Chhun - Administration and Accounting

Patt Chhun is from Banteaymeanchey Province. In Cambodia He is married and has a baby on the way.

Patt enjoys working with the children. He works in the nearby outlying rural areas in the countryside and is responsible for organizing meetings, and preparing the minutes. He writes the report on school activities, prepares letters, and keeps the archives.

Mr. Ponlork Silla - Head of Language Education

Mr. Ponlork Silla is a dedicated and valued member of our team.

Ponlork Silla is the English teacher for our more advanced students. He also supervises our resident language teachers and supports our Volunteer English Language Teachers.

Mr. Thim Salout - Assistant

Thim Salout born in Khmapong Cham province. He has 6 siblings in his family.

He responsible to prepare reports which must be filed with government offices.

Thim is also involved with advocacy, and co-operation, other NGO’s for mutual co-operation and benefit. Thim is working to protect the children rights.

Dr. Suy Chivan

Dr. Suy Chivan is our doctor and Pharmacist. Suy Chivan has served his country as an Army doctor for 16 years.

He has worked tirelessly to provide care and support for the large numbers of malnourished, sick and diseased families and children of Kirimanun villages Dr.Suy Chivan plays a pivotal role in our Centre.

Miss San Srey Neath - Khmer teacher of kindergarten and hygiene

Miss San Srey Neath is villager of Kirimanun Village. She is also our teacher for the kindergarten. Miss Srey Neath works with the small children ages 4 to 5 years old.

She teaches both the Khmer language and basic hygiene.

She is an experienced teacher and brings to her classes an air of calm and expertise.

Miss San Srey Neath is very eager to see all children receive an education and is excited to be able to give free education to these impoverished children.

She responsible for cleaning the new Medical center. Also does outreach to find out the children’s individual health issues and teaches the children and villagers how to care for their health.

Mr. Mitmouy - Security Guard

Mr.Mitmouy’s background is ex-army and security. He now provides regular security for our Medical Centre and the RAKO school.

Mr. Mitmouy’s presence serves as a deterrent for any unsavory characters. He is living in Kirimanun village and has three children. His children are attending our school and he is hopeful they will receive the education he never had.

Mr. Choung Leng - The director of RAKO School

Mr. Choung Leng a teacher who lives near Kirimanun Village. He comes to teach in RAKO school in every day on his motorbike. He is a teacher that has been provided by the government to teach in our school. He is very active and friendly to everyone.

Ms. Ton Phary - Khmer Teacher level 2

Ms.Ton Phary is has the big responsibility of teaching our younger students. Phary is always ready to lend a hand and has been a great support to all during the rapid growth of the RAKO School.

Ms. Suy Sam Nang - Khmer Teacher level 4

Ms. Suy Samnang is our newest and youngest teacher from the government.

She responsible to teach the level 4 students. Her 47 RAKO students like her very much. She always brings a smile and calm to the students.

Samnang is a teacher who living in Kirimanun village and in her family she has 8 brothers and sisters.

Ms. Van Savon - Teacher level 1

Ms. Van Savon is a lady from Tapang village which it is very close by Kirimanun village. She has a daughter who is enrolled at RAKO School. Her husband is working in the rice fields. They make a small income to feed the family.

Van Savon is very happy that she has the opportunity to teach at RAKO school because her village is close by. So she can work very hard with her teaching class.

Mr. Nao Rathanais- Teacher level 3

Mr. Nao Rathanais lives in Tapang village. He is single and has 3 siblings in his family. His parents and brothers work in the rice fields.

He is very proud that he has a chance to teach in RAKO. He really likes to see his students get a better education.

Mr. Roen Kea- Teacher level 5

Mr. Roen Kea is a RAKO School teacher who living in Domdek commune. A bit far from Kirimanun. He is planning to move closer to the school.

Roen has two children and his parents live in the countryside.

He is a friendly person and normally this friendly teacher is not very talkative.
